About Mold Inspections
A mold inspection (i.e. black mold inspection or toxic mold inspection) is a service performed by a qualified mold inspector, industrial hygenist, or indoor environmental professional. The service consists of the following:
- Visual inspection of a structure; focused on past and present moisture intrustion problems
- Detailed written report of findings; including identification of suspect areas and laboratory analysis of microbial samples
- Collection of air, surface, wall cavity, or bulk material samples for laboratory analysis
- Investigation of suspect areas for elevated moisture levels using a moisture meter or infrared camera
- Written scope of work for mold remediation when applicable
