The problem here is that many people are tied down with inaction because they have flood insurance. Having flood insurance seems to cause more damage than it saves. They are forbidden to start removing damp materials until an adjuster can come and assess the damage. Unfortunately, during floods that affect hundreds of people, these adjusters are in short supply. Once again, prevention is the key here. You simply need to develop a maintenance schedule to routinely check these water hoses for leaks. Check for leaks in the hose lining as well as where it is secured to the pipes. This should be done at least once a year, but I recommend you check for leaks on water hoses at the same time as other water leaks that can occur once a month.
